We have whales almost all year round, with the females coming in close to give birth to calves. These include Southern Right, Humpback and several other species. Heaviside's and Dusky dolphins are often seen to follow the little boats and rubber ducks that the holidaymakers use. |

The Heavisides Dolphin is endemic to this coast. You also see penguins, seals, oystercatchers and many seabirds. Kreefing (catching lobsters) is a popular West Coast activity. Fishing from nearby rocks and boats is good.You will, however, have to acquire permits for these activities. We have white mussel beds in front of Villa Dauphine, so there is no shortage of bait. |

are excellent restaurants close-by which serve delicious seafood
meals.
We are surrounded by natural beauty. Yet, our blessings are endless. Most mornings, we are greeted with breathtaking sunrises and in the evenings we witness spectacular sunsets from our veranda. One often has the privilege of watching dolphins surfing and leaping out of the water as we enjoy our breakfast. |
